digiplasty:
Digiplasty has two upcoming experimental projects in the works, both will focus formally for the first time on lending the digiplasty process (that is, to-and-fro, shared control geometries) to the task of designing some specific objects.
It has long been that most digiplasty experiments were very much open ended, non-committal sort of free for all design play experiments focused almost exclusively on art for art’s sake.
However, we have long known that the shared control approach would be a rich design process for projects and products of utility such as furniture, architecture and vehicles or any number of industrial design objects; not to mention characters and other objects for video games and cinematic animation.
Likewise, digiplasty makes an excellent educational module when used to expose first time modelers to any given modeling software and the conceptual basics of 3-space geometry and computer aided design.
So stay tuned for up-coming digiplasty educational projects and contests in 2013.
